Privacy Policy

Happs helps you make plans with friends. This policy explains what we collect, why, and what we never do with it.

What we collect

• Phone number - your account identifier, used to sign you in (one-time code, then optionally a password). Shown to other people only if you turn that on in Privacy settings.
• Display name and optional profile photo - so friends recognise you.
• Your content - the happs you create, dates and venues you vote on, RSVPs, and chat messages, shared only with the people in that happs.
• Availability status - the "free today / tonight / this weekend" signal you choose to set; visible to friends unless you turn it off.
• Contacts (optional) - if you grant access, the phone numbers in your contacts are sent to our server so we can match them against people already on Happs and show you who is here. We use them only for that match at the time you ask - we do not store your contacts or your address book on our server, and we never share them. You can also invite the contacts who aren't on Happs yet, via an invite you send.
• Invite link activity - when someone opens or signs up from your link, the click and signup are attributed to you.

What we don't do

• No ads, no selling data, no tracking across other apps or websites.
• No reading your device calendar - adding a happs to your calendar happens on your device with your permission.
• No storing your one-time codes or passwords in plain text (authentication is handled by Supabase Auth).

Where it lives

Data is stored with Supabase (our backend provider) and protected with row-level security - people can only read the happs they're part of. Notifications for reminders are scheduled on your device.

Deleting your account

Profile → Settings → Privacy → Delete my account removes your profile, happs, votes, RSVPs and messages permanently. No email, no waiting period.

Reporting & safety

Long-press any chat message to report it or block its sender. Blocked people's messages disappear for you immediately.
